Another adventure with art

hubby and i went to lacma over the weekend, our first time! and it was pretty cool. they were having art walk so we got in for ree and roamed around for half the day.

garden update!

well with the weather being warm and all, i decided it was time to get my gardening gloves out

every year i do an herb garden. it lasts for a few weeks and then, of course, i forget to water it and it slowly dies a horrible death

but not this year!

no no no no no!

i am going to water this sucker!

we've got basil, rosemary, cilantro and curled parlsey! everything a growing bunny needs

also, the orange tree is looking mighty fine! and by fine i mean not producing fruit but those leaves are greeeeen and lush. so baby steps orange tree! baby steps.

the lemon tree on the other hand has gone bonkers.

not only has it shot up like a ... well, tree... but it also has...

.....

...

..

wait for it....

...

LEMONS!

more than one!!

and i bought some cacti that i hope will grow and make me feel better about myself and how i can take care of things.

:)

it's a beautiful day to buy some books!

and it was! hot Hot HOT! but no, that did not stop us!!


saturday and sunday was the los angeles book fair.
dragging poor hubby, we met up with some friends so we could indulge in the once a year- no rules buy whatever books you want because it's a book fair extravaganza!!
in the past, it was held at UCLA, but this year it was at USC (much to my friend p's pride being a USC alumni)




there were books, books and books!
















a ben & jerry's truck! giving away free ice cream! (and yes, it was goooood)

we also stopped by mysterious galaxy, which is a bookstore that comes to visit from san diego. i love them too!


oooh and so... we were only there for three hours... but the goodies!

i've read both of these books before and luh-uh-uhved them. they're paranormal crazy. these two are my favorite out of the series so far and they've been re-issued from avon books this past year. so YAY!!





and got these books from the mysterious galaxy booth and got to meet the author! a really nice guy named richard kadrey. he signed my book and drew a picture for me.







super exciting day! i'm a bit tired, sleepy, took a nap when i got home from the heat and sun. but now that i'm refreshed, i guess i'll go.....

feels like vacation!

for a couple of days i've been free with nothing but a car and a hubby who didn't mind being dragged around. here's what we did:
